What is the Specialist Classical Chart podcast trial?
Radio 3 is trialling a weekly podcast containing extracts of classical music that may be longer than is permitted in other BBC podcasts. Extracts of classical music in podcasts are currently usually no longer than one minute in duration. However, this trial aims to test public and industry reaction to extracts of up to nine minutes in duration. The podcast will be presented by Radio 3 Breakfast presenters Rob Cowan and Sara Mohr-Pietsch and feature music from some of the week's new entries, re-entries and other CDs in the specialist classical Top 20.
