I've received an email claiming that I've won money in a lottery which refers to an alleged affiliation with the BBC. Is this a genuine email?

We've been made aware of emails of this nature having been received purporting to be affiliated with the BBC.

These emails have no connection with the BBC whatsoever and you should ignore them. You should not reply to them and if you believe that persons are attempting to deceive you with a view to monetary gain, you should contact the police.
